About CoursesOnPhysics

What this is

CoursesOnPhysics is a free, open physics education site built on a simple conviction: the laws of nature are accessible to anyone willing to follow a careful argument.

The project is still growing. Right now the site focuses on introductory material that builds strong foundations, published as short courses, standalone explanations, and longer course sequences where the subject calls for them. Everything is free, with no accounts and no paywalls.

The teaching style starts from physical meaning and intuition. Equations matter, but they should emerge from understanding rather than stand in for it.

The intended audience is broad: curious beginners, self-learners, students who want a clearer foundation, and anyone who prefers understanding to formula memorization.

Why it's free

Physics education should not be behind a paywall. Anyone curious about how the world works deserves access to clear, honest, well-written explanations, and the web is the right place to provide them.

The author

This site is written and maintained by a physicist (PhD) whose teaching style is to explain things from first principles without hiding the structure of the argument.

The project grew out of years of public lectures on physics and astrophysics, including many given from inside an observatory dome. CoursesOnPhysics brings that same approach to the web: careful, rigorous, and accessible without assuming too much too early.

Writing and AI assistance

AI tools may assist with drafting and refining prose. All physical arguments, pedagogical decisions, examples, equations, and final editorial judgments are made and reviewed by the author before publication.
